About

With 25 years of creative strategy, UX, and design experience, we build transformative edTech experiences for teachers, students, and learners.

Our Mission

We’re edTech specialists with 25 years of experience, focused on equipping our clients with the tools they need to create better digital products: strategic insights, product ideation, and design. We believe that thoughtful user experience and design can enable better teaching and learning — that our work can give users a brain full of knowledge and a backpack full of confidence.

Our Values

We assume nothing about our users—that’s why research is key

The key to empathetic design is a user-centric approach, so we extensively test our new products without assumptions or ego. Every user is different, and every story is crucial in building a successful product.

We’re serious about strategy

We love to learn, research, and ask questions. Our strategy is built around that core concept — we take the time to understand the problems, goals, and users.

“Backpack Interactive was a fantastic partner in creating the site and LMS for the BBC Learning Hub. They really took the time to listen and understand our goals, thinking carefully about the purpose of each page type and how to bring it to life. Their designs are thoughtful and user-friendly, and they were responsive and collaborative every step of the way. It felt like they cared about the site as much as we do.”
